Travis Hunter didn’t waste any time making a splash in the Jackson State spring game, which aired on Sunday night on ESPNU.
Hunter, the 5-star recruit from near Atlanta, who flipped to Jackson State from Florida State on National Signing Day, delivered in the first quarter alone a diving catch in the endzone for a TD, an 80+ yard deep ball for TD catch and an interception on defense.
Coach Deion Sanders has repeatedly said that Hunter would play on both sides of the ball this season, and he got Hunter plenty of offensive snaps in early. Hunter is primarily listed as a cornerback.
Sanders flipped the No. 1 overall 2022 recruit, Hunter, a cornerback out of Suwanee, Georgia (Collins Hill) after he’d been committed to Florida State since March. Hunter at his announcement ceremony tossed hats from Georgia and Florida State before he put on a Jackson State hat, and other clothing.
In the days and weeks since, fans and media alike have discussed what a gamechanger it could be for Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Here are some of Hunter’s highlights:
