Trevor Etienne is reportedly suspended for Saturday’s showdown between No. 1 Georgia and No. 14 Clemson in Atlanta, according to Matt Zenitz of On3.

Etienne was arrested on March 24 in Athens and charged with DUI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane/improper driving on road and affixing materials that reduce visibility of windows/windshield. He was allegedly speeding over 80 mph in a 50 mph zone and passing over a double-yellow line. He declined a field sobriety test, was arrested and went to jail before being released on bond.

In July, Etienne had the DUI charge dismissed in a plea agreement. He pleaded no contest to a reckless driving charge and guilty to charges of underage possession of alcohol, failure to maintain lane and a window-tint violation. He received 12 months probation as part of the agreement.

Earlier this week, Kirby Smart declined to make an announcement on Etienne’s status.

“I don’t really talk about any of the other stuff in regards to any of our players with suspensions,” Smart said in his Monday press conference when asked if Etienne would be suspended.

Etienne’s transfer from Florida to Georgia was one of the more high-profile transfer stories of the most recent portal cycle. In 2 seasons at UF, Etienne played in 24 games, logging 249 carries for 1,472 yards and 14 touchdowns, adding 30 catches for 238 yards and 1 score.

Etienne is expected to be the RB1 in Georgia’s running back room this season. For the Clemson game, the Bulldogs are also expected to be without RB2. Smart announced Monday that Roderick Robinson had surgery for a toe injury.

“Not real sure,” Smart said of Robinson’s outlook. “Probably will be week to week. Not sure how long it will take in terms of the surgery.”

UGA is expected to turn to veterans Branson Robinson and Cash Jones on Saturday. The freshman class also includes running backs Nate Frazier, Chauncey Bowens and Dwight Phillips Jr.

Georgia-Clemson is set for noon ET, airing on ABC. UGA is a 12.5-point favorite at FanDuel Sportsbook.
