Texas recruiting is off to a hot start in July. Steve Sarkisian’s program has now picked up 3 commitments for its 2024 recruiting class on Saturday.

The newest pledge comes from Jordon Johnson-Rubell. The standout defensive back out of the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida picked up scholarship offers from 35 programs during his recruitment.

For his Saturday commitment ceremony, Johnson-Rubell chose Texas over TCU, Michigan and Ohio State.

An Under Armour All-American, Johnson-Rubell’s listed measurements are 5-10, 180 pounds. On the 247Sports composite rankings, Johnson-Rubell is rated 4-stars, the No. 11 safety, No. 23 Florida high school football player and No. 134 prospect overall nationally in the Class of 2024.

For Johnson-Rubell, it’s a return to his home state. Before playing for IMG, he began his career at Fort Worth Brewer.

With Johnson-Rubell on board, the Longhorns have 11 commitments for 2024. Johnson-Rubell’s junior season highlights can be viewed below, via Hudl:
