Trio of SEC programs take podium for most impressive units of Week 6, per CFB analyst
Sure, a few SEC powerhouses took it on the chin in Week 6, with Alabama, Tennessee and Missouri all losing as Top-10 teams on the road. Alabama lost as the No. 1 team in the AP Poll, Tennessee was No. 4 and Missouri was No. 9.
But somebody had to beat those 3 SEC teams, right? In this case, it was 3 SEC schools that pulled off the hat trick of upsets, and that trio was rewarded on Monday morning by CBS Sports and 247Sports reporter Brandon Marcello, who released his weekly most impressive teams.
Well, his 3 most impressive teams for Week 6 were Vanderbilt, Arkansas and Texas A&M, in that order, which not surprisingly just happened to be the teams that took down Alabama, Tennessee and Missouri, respectively.

So, from one perspective the SEC had a tough week, but from Marcello’s point of view, it just showed the depth of the conference that 3 Top-10 teams from the league could all lose to fellow SEC opponents. Vanderbilt nearly knocked off Missouri on the road 2 weeks before pulling the stunner at home against Alabama.
Meanwhile, Arkansas stifled Tennessee in Fayetteville in primetime on Saturday, and earlier in the day Texas A&M raced out to a big lead and cruised to an upset of Missouri. The Aggies were ranked 25th coming into the game, so at least Missouri didn’t lose to an unranked team like Alabama and Tennessee did.
