Tucker McCann receives national honor after tying school record

Although the result wasn’t something he’ll want to remember, Missouri K Tucker McCann had a memorable day in the loss to South Carolina on Saturday.
McCann hit a 57-yard field goal, the second longest in school history, and he made five field goals to tie a school record. Tom Whelihan’s 62-yard field goal against Colorado on Oct. 11, 1986 is the longest. McCann’s kick with 1:18 put the Tigers up, but the defense couldn’t hold the lead.
For his performance, McCann was given the Lou Groza Award Star of the Week honor.
McCann leads the SEC with 13 field goals, and he’s made 72 percent of his kicks this season. McCann’s second in the nation, only to Syracuse’s Andre Szmyt.
