Ty Simpson and the Alabama Crimson Tide got the 30-14 win against Vanderbilt in a revenge game from last season. Simpson had another fantastic day, as he went 23-of-31 for 340 yards and two touchdowns. He did throw his first interception of the season, but he led an Alabama offense that finished with 486 yards of offense.

Despite the impressive performance, Simpson wasn’t entirely satisfied, and told reporters after the game that he still has areas to work on.

“I took four sacks. I can’t do that,” Simpson said. “I’ve got to throw the ball away.”

Kalen DeBoer has to love hearing that answer from his quarterback. The sacks did hurt the offense at times on Saturday, as the Crimson Tide weren’t able to consistently finish off drives. Alabama had to kick three field goals in the second half, which allowed Vanderbilt to hang around for much of the day.

Simpson has been great all year for the Crimson Tide, as he has thrown for 1,478 yards, 13 touchdowns and now one interception.

Up next for the Crimson Tide is another very difficult game against the undefeated Missouri Tigers next Saturday.
