Georgia’s defensive line took another hit Saturday.

Sophomore DaQuan Hawkins may miss the rest of spring practice with a knee injury suffered in Saturday’s scrimmage.

Kirby Smart knows it will be a tough spring for this group because of the injuries sustained.

“It’s not as bad as Michael Barnett’s but very similar,” Smart said, via the Athens Banner-Herald. “So we don’t know if we’ll get him back or not for the spring game. Now with Barnett and DaQuan Hawkins out, you can see the cupboard’s getting bare on the D-line. It’s getting tougher and tougher for us.”

Hawkins joins fellow defensive lineman Michael Barnett with knee injuries suffered this spring.

Georgia’s defense is very talented, but like any other program — with the exception of maybe Alabama, depth is key, and injuries deplete depth.
