UK announces Kentucky-Southern Miss season opener kickoff time

Kentucky will be hitting the road looking for payback in the season opener against Southern Miss, as the Wildcats will be making the return trip to Hattiesburg, Miss., to kick off the 2017 season. Thursday, Kentucky officially announced the start time for the game via an official release sent out by the school.

Kentucky, of course, opened last season at home against the Eagles and fell in front of the home crowd by a score of 44-35. The Wildcats get the chance to return the favor Saturday, Sept. 2, at 4 p.m. ET/3 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network and will also be broadcast live on the UK Sports Network.

The Wildcats hold the all-time edge over Southern Miss by a 2-1 margin, winning in 1986 and 1949.
