By Adam Spencer
Published:
We’ve officially made it to Championship Weekend in college football. Games like Alabama-Georgia and Ohio State-Indiana highlight the Saturday slate in the college ranks, while the NFL pushes toward the postseason with Week 14 action continuing on Sunday.
Even though the number of games is going down, there are still plenty of opportunities to win money with daily fantasy sports contests. Our DFS experts — Andrew Olson and Adam Spencer — have gone through the numbers and will share their 3 favorite college football and 2 best NFL picks of the week below.
But first…

Championship Week CFB Picks
Here’s who the guys like during college football’s conference championship weekend:
Andrew Olson
Chandler Morris, Virginia QB: Higher than 229.5 pass yards
Duke gives up an average of 286 passing yards per game against ACC competition, which ranks last in the conference. The Blue Devils have been torched for 300 or more yards through the air in 4 of the last 5 games, including a 316-yard outing for Morris on Nov. 15.
Fernando Mendoza, Indiana QB: Lower than 211.5 pass yards
There are good defenses, and then there’s the Ohio State defense. Mendoza has been a 9.4 yards per attempt QB against Big Ten defenses, but that dipped to 6.9 YPA against Oregon. In passing defense, OSU is the only B1G team with a lower YPA allowed than Oregon.
Gunner Stockton, Georgia QB: Higher than 26.5 rush yards
Georgia had great success running the football against Alabama back in September, logging 227 yards on 33 rushes. Kalen DeBoer’s Alabama teams have had trouble with mobile quarterbacks. Georgia would be wise to use Stockton more as a runner in Round 2 against Alabama.
Adam Spencer
LJ Martin, BYU RB: Lower than 70.5 rush yards
The Texas Tech defensive front is one of the best in the entire sport. Martin ran 10 times for 35 yards in the first meeting between these teams. Even if he runs it 20 times at that rate, he’ll finish with 70 yards this time around. Give me the lower option here.
Isaiah Horton, Alabama WR: Higher than 31.5 receiving yards
Horton had 5 catches for 65 yards and a touchdown in the first game against Georgia. He had 3 touchdown catches in the Iron Bowl last week. He’s having a good year and I think that 32 yards is very manageable for him on Saturday.
Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State WR: Higher than 0.5 rush+receiving TDs
Indiana has a solid defense. Is it on Ohio State’s level? No. But it’s a great defense. I think the Hoosiers can limit what Jeremiah Smith is able to do, but I like Smith to find the end zone at least once.
Week 14 NFL Picks
Here’s who the guys are picking for Sunday’s NFL slate:
Andrew Olson
James Cook, Buffalo Bills RB: Higher than 19.5 rush attempts
Cook is coming off of back-to-back 100-yard rushing games and gets another favorable matchup in Week 14. Cincinnati’s defense allows over 5 yards per carry. Don’t overthink it, Buffalo: Let James Cook.
Quinshon Judkins, Cleveland Browns RB: Higher than 80.5 rush yards
This sets up nicely. Judkins is averaging just under 20 carries per game (19.5) since the Week 9 bye. Now, in Week 14, he draws a Tennessee team with one of the weaker defenses at stopping the run.
Adam Spencer
Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills QB: Higher than 237.5 pass yards
I know Andrew just picked Cook to get 20+ carries. Against the Bengals, I think Allen has the opportunity to throw for 238+ yards in the first 3 quarters before leaning on the rushing attack in the 4th quarter. Cincinnati’s defense is hot garbage.
Kyle Monangai, Chicago Bears RB: Higher than 44.5 rush yards
The rookie out of Rutgers has gone higher than this number in his last 2 games (including last week’s 130-yard effort against the Eagles) and in 3 of his last 5. He’s a strong runner and I expect Chicago to lean heavily on the rushing attack in Lambeau Field on Sunday afternoon.
