Urban Meyer no longer listed as betting favorite to coach Ohio State in 2018 after being placed on leave
While betting odds don’t necessarily reflect the train of thought of various leaders from across college football, just ask Tennessee fans how those Jon Gruden odds worked out last fall, it’s worth noting that Urban Meyer’s odds to coach Ohio State when the team takes the field on Sept. 1 have drastically fallen this evening.
When these odds were first posted on Wednesday, Meyer was listed at -300 to be Ohio State’s coach come Sept. 1 and listed at +240 to NOT be the Buckeye coach for the season opener.
Well, those odds have changed in a hurry as BetDSI has updated their odds on Meyer’s future in Columbus.
Following the news that Ohio State has placed Meyer on paid administrative leave, those odds have seen a drastic change. Here’s where the odds currently reside:
Urban Meyer is head coach of Ohio State on Sept. 1, 2018
- Yes +180
- No -220
In fact, Meyer has been surpassed by his defensive coordinator Greg Schiano on the latest odds. That’s an interesting note, as offensive coordinator Ryan Day has been placed in charge of the Ohio State program while Meyer is on leave.
Head coach of Ohio State Buckeyes on Sept. 1, 2018?
- Greg Schiano -150
- Urban Meyer +180
- Kevin Wilson +220
- Ryan Day +500
- Alex Grinch +1500
- Les Miles +5000
- Jim Grobe +10000
- Rich Rodriguez +10000
