Urban Meyer may be taking a page out of his arch-rivals’ playbook.
According to WUFT News’ Sara Perlman, Meyer said he’s thinking of following in Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh’s footsteps and holding spring practices in Florida next year, which was to the dismay of the SEC world.
“I think it’s creative,” Meyer said. “You always worry about taking their spring break from them. I’m looking into it for next year and maybe the future, too, because it’s creative and, if it’s good for the players, we’ll probably do it.”

SEC commissioner Greg Sankey, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and others were openly critical of Harbaugh’s decision to hold a one-week camp at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
Sankey even asked the NCAA to prevent the plan, but any decision on that will likely have to wait until next year.
Meyer’s decision to hold a camp in the Sunshine State makes more sense. The Buckeyes coach has good ties in the area after coaching at Florida from 2005-10 and won two national championships with the school.
