Urban Meyer had an incredible college coaching career that saw him win wherever he coached. He was a head coach at Bowling Green, Utah, Florida and Ohio State.

It was at Florida where he became recognized as one of the best coaches in the sport, and he will be honored this season during the game against Tennessee with an ‘on-campus salute’ on Nov. 22. The gesture is part of Meyer’s induction into the NFF College Football Hall-of Fame.

During this game, he will be recognized on the field, and a Hall of Fame plaque will be on permanent display at Florida.

Meyer will be the 14th overall Gator to receive this recognition, and the 5th coach. During his time as the coach in Gainesville, he posted a 65-15 overall record, while going 36-12 in the SEC. The Gators won the national championship in 2006 and 2008, while also winning the SEC twice.

In the 2008 and 2009 seasons, Meyer became the first FBS coach to win 13 games in back to back years. They also won a school record 22 games in a row during that stretch.

Florida had 113 all-SEC players and 57 All-American players during the Meyer era, with quarterback Tim Tebow winning the Heisman Trophy in 2007.

After Florida, Meyer went onto Ohio State and enjoyed even more success. He posted an 83-9 record at Ohio State, winning another national championship in 2014.

His overall coaching record is 187-32, with an 8-5 season at Florida in 2010 being the worst record he had in his career.
