Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia was caught envisioning a heavy bronze trophy, if only for a moment, Saturday against No. 10 LSU.

Here’s a look at Pavia’s Heisman Trophy celebration after scoring a big TD vs. the Tigers:

The electrifying signal-caller for the 17th-ranked Commodores had just romped for a 21-yard rushing touchdown late in the third quarter to put Vanderbilt ahead 31-21 when he struck quite the familiar pose in the end zone at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville.

Pavia’s run capped a third 75-play scoring drive for Vanderbilt against LSU and gave him 72 rushing yards against the Tigers. He also scored on a 1-yard carry in the first quarter, and threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to tight end Cole Spence in the third quarter.

Pavia entered Saturday’s game as one of college football’s more unique dual-threat quarterbacks. Pavia has passed for 1,409 yards and 14 touchdowns and rushed for 352 yards and 2 TDs through 6 games this season. Pavia now has 25 rushing touchdowns in his NCAA career that began at New Mexico State in 2022.
