It took some time, but the SEC is finally home to a top 2 team in the country again. In Las Vegas, at least.
Neither Indiana nor Alabama looked like world beaters in Week 11. The Hoosiers prevailed over Penn State on the back of a tremendous catch with less than a minute to go in regulation. The Crimson Tide smothered LSU’s offense, but didn’t light up the scoreboard like we’ve gotten accustomed to seeing. Regardless, Alabama’s struggles came against a much better opponent, so they’re now holding down second place for Phil Steele.

Steele has been doing Vegas Power Rankings for years. They give insight into who would be favored on a neutral field in a particular matchup. For much of the year, that would have been the Hoosiers by a slight margin. Today, it’s the Crimson Tide. Who will it be if/when they actually face off? There are still a few weeks of games left to decide that.
