Don’t count on Auburn fans ever getting tired of watching replays of the Kick Six. It’s clear the social media account for the school’s football program understands that all too well. Considering Tuesday signals the 109-day mark until Auburn kicks off at home against Georgia Southern in the 2017 season operner, there was little doubt what video content the team’s social media account would use to hype up the milestone.

Despite the play being over three years old, it remains the benchmark for the most exciting finish to a college football game since that time — and arguably ever.

The play ended Alabama’s undefeated season and sent the Tigers to the SEC title game, where Auburn beat Missouri by a score of 59-42. Auburn would go on to play in the final BCS National Title Game, falling to Florida State by a score of 34-31.

While Auburn did not capture the national title that season, Chris Davis and his Tiger teammates will always remain a part of school lore thanks in large part to his one play — a 109-yard return for the game-winning score.
