Video: Cam Robinson inks rookie deal, credits Alabama for preparing him for the NFL
Former Alabama offensive lineman Cam Robinson is now officially a member of the Jaguars after signing his rookie contract Wednesday. A second round selection in the 2017 NFL Draft, Robinson was taken by the team with the No. 34 overall pick. Terms of his first NFL deal were not released.
Jacksonville uniquely announced the deal, filming their rookie sign the deal. Soon after inking his first NFL contract, Robinson was asked about Alabama and what specifically the school did best to prepare him for the next level. Apparently, the school did so much for Robinson, he couldn’t single out one aspect of the program that helped.
“They did so much, it’s difficult for me to pin it down, to put it down in one word,” Robinson admitted. “They just did such a great job of preparing me for this level. It’s difficult for me to put in into one word.”
While Robinson failed to express everything Alabama did for him, he was able to convey his excitement after signing his deal.
“It feels great,” Robinson said. “It’s something you always dream about, since you were a kid. When you’re a kid, this is a life-long goal.”
As for things he can improve on, the rookie from Alabama mentioned he has a ways to go before starring at the next level.
“There are always a ton of things I can improve on. That is the type of player I am. I am always looking to improve,” Robinson said via the team’s website. “I think for the most part I have made pretty good strides and I have done a good job with progressing day in and day out.”
