Dan Mullen articulated very nicely today why the SEC West (and the SEC as a whole) is better than other divisions and conferences in college football.
While the best teams in each conference are all top tier teams, the strength of the SEC is in the depth. The difficulty in playing in the conference is that you have few, if any, off-weeks in the conference schedule.
As Dan Mullen explains, the SEC West has seven teams that believe they can win the division and are fully invested in doing just that. Good luck trying to find a similar division in college football.
