The Florida Gators put a huge emphasis on running the football yesterday against Georgia in the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. Behind Matt Jones and Kelvin Taylor, the Gators executed a punishing ground game to upset the Bulldogs, 38-20, and set some records along the way.
- Florida gained 418 yards rushing, the most by the Gators since 1989
- Matt Jones and Kelvin Taylor combined for 389 yards and four touchdowns
- Jones and Taylor are the first pair of UF running backs to both run for 190 yards-plus in a single game
- UGA came into this game allowing 105.14 rushing yards per game (gave up 418)
- The biggest run on UGA’s defense this season was 24 yards. UF had two runs of 44 yards.
