Sometimes, even the classics need an update.

On Saturday, high school football coach James Light shared a video to his Twitter account (which has more than 11,800 followers) of Georgia coach Kirby Smart explaining the drill “Millenial Oklahoma.” Smart explains that the drill is an updated interpretation of the Oklahoma drill aimed at current college football players, who are grouped into the generation label “Millenials.”

In the video, which has some explicit language, Smart shows that “Millenial Oklahoma” focuses on receivers with the ball in space and blocking for the ball-carrier.

Smart believes that “Millenial Oklahoma” is more relevant to today’s college football schemes than the traditional drill.

“Oklahoma doesn’t exist in a box unless you’re playing certain teams any more,” Smart said.
