The Auburn-Georgia game just got a lot more exciting.
After a defensive struggle in the first half that ended with the No. 9 Tigers holding a 7-0 lead, Bulldogs senior defensive back Maurice Smith picked off Sean White for a 34-yard touchdown on the third play of the second half.
The play gave life to a Sanford Stadium crowd that watched Georgia gain just 161 yards while getting shut out in the first half. Auburn followed that up with a three-and-out, and it seems the Bulldogs suddenly have all the momentum in “The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry.”
