South Carolina continues to build up its football program in hopes of becoming an annual SEC and national contender. A big part of the process is having top notch facilities to both recruit top athletes and help the student-athletes on campus reach their maximum potential. Already working to accomplish that goal, South Carolina has just provided the most recent update to its work in progress facilities.

The 110,000-square-foot football operations center is expected to provide the Gamecocks’ program with a recruiting center, locker room, weight room, athletic training room, coaches’ offices, meeting rooms, dining room, equipment room and player areas — all in one convenient location. It will be adjacent to the new Jerri and Steve Spurrier Indoor Practice Facility and outdoor practice fields.

In a video released Monday, South Carolina shows some of the first steps in the process.

The highlights of the video include the following updates to construction: underground utilities and piping installation nearly complete, exterior retaining wall installation complete, interior retaining wall in progress, and foundation marking in progress.
