Virginia football player Chuck Davis is $100,000 richer, and he won’t be in any trouble with the NCAA.

While home with family, Davis recently stopped by 7-Eleven to pick up his morning coffee. He told Sports Illustrated’s Dan Gratland that he decided to pick up a lottery ticket in Virginia’s “Cash 5” game while at the convenience store.

“I looked at the numbers on the website after the drawing and said, ‘I… won!’” he said.

If Davis is feeling generous with his winnings, it’s easy to guess who will be the first to be treated to something special. He revealed that it was his grandmother who suggested the five winning numbers.

Luckily for Davis, the NCAA allows players to make money through random games of chance. We’re guessing quite a few of his teammates will be looking for him to pick up the tab from now on.
