Vol Twitter wouldn’t be surprised if Tennessee never scores another offensive touchdown

Twitter is bewildered by Tennessee’s inability to score an offensive touchdown.
It’s understandable. The Volunteers haven’t crossed the goal line on offense since Sept. 23 in a 17-13 win over UMass. It seems like it was years ago, but it was actually just over a month.
Tennessee did score a touchdown against Alabama, but it was a 97-yard interception return by the defense. Other than that, the Vols knocked in three field goals against South Carolina and got totally shut out by Georgia.
You could say October hasn’t been a good month in Knoxville.
Tennessee was oh, so close to scoring a touchdown against Kentucky on Saturday night. The Vols got all the way to the 1-yard-line in the first quarter, yet still found a way to kick a field goal.
At the time of this post, early in the second quarter, Tennessee was trailing Kentucky 14-6.
Check out some of these reactions:
First drive starts at opponent’s 15-yard line. Second drive gets to opponent’s 1-yard line. Both end in FGs.
That’s how you lose games.

Tennessee’s touchdown struggle on offense is just unreal. I mean, they were right there at the goal line. Snap infraction and a sack…

Shot some video, and Tennessee kicked another FG in the red zone. The end zone is made of lava for the Vols.

Tennessee had 2nd-and-goal at Kentucky 1, but only manages a FG. 7th time in last 5 games UT has had ball in red zone & couldn’t score TD

Man,.. that offensive touchdown thing is a real issue huh

And then the Vols get flagged for a false start. From the 1.
Stop us if you’ve heard that before.

Snap infraction from the #Vols on the 1-yard line. Amazing. Worst goal-line offense I’ve ever seen.

End of the 1st quarter UK 7 UT 6: Tennessee now has not scored an offensive touchdown in 15 consecutive quarters.

Truly baffling. Maybe the Vols will punch one in the end zone before this game is over.
