Well, that didn’t take long.
The Gus Malzahn era of calling plays got off to a quick start as QB Jarrett Stidham hit RB JaTarvious Whitlow on a wheel route for a 66-yard scoring strike. Malzahn’s play-calling produced three positive plays on the quick scoring drive.
Stidham took the snap on 3rd-and-1, faked the QB run and then hit Whitlow for the long TD. Whitlow made a beautiful cutback to house it.
Auburn has a quick 7-0 lead over Purdue in the Music City Bowl with over 13 minutes left in the first quarter.
