WATCH: Coach/marriage counselor Mike Leach drops some knowledge on how to build a happy home

It’s been a long, cold, Mike Leach-less winter, but now that spring is here, the Washington State coach is back in front of a microphone where he belongs.
On Wednesday, Leach put his marriage counselor hat on and dished out some advice on the secret to a happy marriage.
As you can see in the video below, shared by @WSUCougFB on Twitter, Leach offers his advice to a reporter who is getting married soon:

“Well, the biggest thing is to make sure she’s your best friend,” he starts. “But with that said, anything that you expect to do within your marriage that’s important to you 20 years from now, make sure you do it now, whether you feel like it or not. It’s just like your right to vote — if you don’t exercise it, you may lose it. You need to exercise any rights that you expect to maintain between now and the duration. See that you do that, and do it from day one. Start it now.
“She needs to do the same thing, obviously. Anything she expects out of you, she’d better make sure she gets it.”
Leach is always great in front of a mic, and the Wazzu team really needs to make something like “Life Lessons with Leach” a regular segment.
