The Cleveland Cavaliers made former Alabama star Collin Sexton the No. 8 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, and he’s ready to get to work.
On Friday night, he made his NBA Summer League debut and looked great doing it, scoring 15 points and making all six of his free throws.
Following his pro debut, Sexton said he had some first-game jitters, but added that he quickly calmed down:
"It was exciting. When you first get out there, you've just got to get the jitters and excitement out of you… After that it's go time.'

“Man, it was exciting,” Sexton said. “When you first get out there, you’ve just got to get the jitters and excitement out of you. It only takes one game for you to get everything out, and then after that, it’s go time.”
Since LeBron James left Cleveland for the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason, more pressure will be on Sexton in 2018 and beyond. However, he handled pressure well at Alabama, so there’s no reason to think that won’t carry over when the regular season begins.
