Chris Rainey has some serious speed.

The former Gators standout housed a 79-yard punt return TD in the CFL Saturday night.

With Rainey’s Toronto Argonauts losing 10-3 to the BC Lions, Rainey’s score cut the lead to 10-9. Through three quarters, Rainey has recorded seven punt returns for 113 yards, including the TD. He’s also tallied three kick returns for 56 yards.

The 5-foot-8, 180-pound speedster signed with the Argonauts as a free agent in February of 2019.

Following his career at Florida, Rainey was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fifth round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He was waived following a battery charge in January of 2013. He then played for the Cols and Cardinals. After his NFL career, Rainey headed to the CFL and has played for the Montreal Alouettes, BC Lions and Argonauts.
