WATCH: Illinois baseball player breaks aluminum bat on an inside pitch

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, an Illinois baseball player comes and does something like this.
Michael Michalak went and broke his aluminum bat while swinging on an inside pitch. Broken wooden bats are pretty common but this is something entirely different.
Check out a video of the scene below. The Big Ten announcers seem just as amazed as Michalak after the bat shattered:
