WATCH: Iowa scored a TD with one of the strangest formations you’ll ever see

The Iowa Hawkeyes beat the Minnesota Golden Gophers 48-31 on Saturday, pulling out all their tricks to do so.
In fact, coach Kirk Ferentz called a play so bizarre, you have to see it to believe it. And it came on fourth-and-goal, too, making it even crazier.
As you can see below, the Hawkeyes line up in a normal formation and then shift into a strange front. Then, instead of snapping to the quarterback, the center pivots and snaps it sideways to a running back for a touchdown:

The play goes for a touchdown, making Ferentz look like a genius. Still, even if it hadn’t worked, major points for trying something different.
We’ll see if the Hawkeyes bust out this formation in the coming weeks.
