As LSU prepares to play BYU on Saturday night in New Orleans, several Texas natives on the LSU roster shared their thoughts on the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

The game, originally scheduled to be played at NRG Stadium in Houston, was moved this week to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The game will still kick 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Wearing a “Houston” hat, linebacker Corey Thompson of Missouri City, Texas said he would dedicate the game to victims and he expressed his condolences. Like several teammates, defensive back Kary Vincent Jr. of Port Arthur, Texas spoke directly to specific family members and said support comes from Louisiana.

“All my fellow Houstonians, continue to stay strong and know that you have full support here in The Boot,” he said.

Linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson of Houston said, “We can go through anything and everything. We’ll bounce back.”

Former LSU running back Leonard Fournette was among a host of NFL players and other athletes to donate money to relief efforts.
