Auburn was two outs away from winning its first College World Series game since 1997, but everything collapsed in the ninth inning.

Mississippi State scored four runs — aided by an error by the third baseman — to win in walk-off fashion. Marshall Gilbert knocked in the game-winning run.

It was Mississippi State’s 28th come-from-behind win of the season. That’s a resilient team.

For MSU — it’s thrilling; however, for Auburn, it’s heartbreak. To add to the misery, radio morning show host Breck Riley shared Gilbert’s game-winning hit to the “Titanic” theme song featuring Celine Dion.

It never gets old, does it?

Mississippi State will play Vanderbilt Tuesday in the winner’s bracket.
