WATCH: Najee Harris working hard to earn larger role on the field for Alabama in 2018

It may have taken Najee Harris longer than he imagined to make an impact for Alabama’s offense when it mattered most, but when he did, it occurred at the most opportune moment.

After rushing for just over 300 yards during his true freshman season, Harris ripped off six carries for 64 yards against Georgia in the National Championship Game. His carries went for an average of 10.7 yards in that game and played a huge factor in Alabama’s come from behind victory in the contest.

Heading into his sophomore season in Tuscaloosa, the California native is hard at work this offseason to prove he deserves an opportunity to see the field in the near future. The former five-star recruit has shown what he can do when given an opportunity now, he’s out to prove he’s worthy of one given Alabama’s loaded backfield.
