WATCH: Nick Saban addresses status of Tua Tagovailoa, discusses win over Tennessee

Alabama dominated Tennessee from the start on Saturday, cruising to a 58-21 win. One of the only concerns for the Crimson Tide was the status of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who appeared to tweak his injured knee before exiting the game in the second half.
However, coach Nick Saban said after the game that Tagovailoa is fine, and that he could have went back in the game had the Tide not planned on putting Jalen Hurts in at that point anyways. Saban was also impressed with his team’s overall performance.
“Tua had a good day. I know everybody’s going to want to know, he’s fine. He could’ve went back in the game if he needed to go back in the game, but we were about ready to put Jalen in anyway,” Saban said after the win. “I’m just really, really pleased, a lot of guys having a lot of fun in the locker room. It’s always good to see players have fun. They love the tradition of this game.”
The Crimson Tide scored four touchdowns in the first quarter to build a 28-point halftime lead. They also scored 50 or more points for the sixth time this season, setting a program record.
“I thought we really controlled the game in the second half, our defense played pretty well in the second half, we were able to run the ball and take the air out of it a little bit,” Saban said. “We still made some explosive plays in the first half.”
