How could Nick Saban run out of gas?
Well, according to him he didn’t.
Alabama took part in SEC Media Days Wednesday, and he was asked by a reporter about being stranded on the boat in early June. The videos went viral, and everyone just assumed that Saban’s intern, Butch Jones, forgot to fill up the boat. We’re kidding, kind of.
Here’s the video from earlier this summer with Saban and the players:
Saban, while speaking to media members, held a smile while discussing the incident.
“Let me get the record straight here,” Saban said. “We had a brand new boat. First time out in the boat, and the fuel pump didn’t work. We didn’t run out of gas.
“There has been some benefit of people thinking that we did run out of gas, though. We’ve probably been sent about 100 gas cans.”
