Reid Travis’ Kentucky career didn’t end like he had hoped; Travis transferred from Stanford to Kentucky to ultimately win the NCAA Tournament, and although it didn’t end like everyone wanted, it’s clear he’s grateful for the opportunity and the support from Kentucky fans, players and staff.
During his time at Stanford, Travis never had the opportunity to play in the tournament, and that was certainly a huge opportunity for him at UK. He averaged 11.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game in 2018-19.
On Wednesday, Travis paid the Big Blue Nation a heartfelt thank you on his Instagram page.
“It’s tough to accept that I won’t be able to put on that Kentucky blue and white again and play in front of the best fans in the country but I was truly blessed this past year to be able to make life long bonds with my teammates and coaches,” Travis wrote. “I couldn’t have asked for a better group to share my last year of college basketball with and I can’t begin to thank everyone at UK enough for welcoming me in and making Lexington feel like home.”
