The LSU Tigers are utterly destroying the Oklahoma Sooners at halftime 49-14.
The Tigers offense, behind Joe Burrow’s seven touchdown passes, have racked up a ridiculous 497 yards. Receiver Justin Jefferson has caught four of Burrow’s seven touchdown passes, as the quarterback set a new Peach Bowl record in the first half.
There wasn’t much Ed Orgeron didn’t like in the first half.
Orgeron was interviewed by ESPN’s Holly Rowe at halftime.
“We don’t want that,” Orgeron said about extracurricular activity just before halftime. “We don’t want anyone kicked out of the game. We want to play as a disciplined football team. We have 30 minutes left to go.”
“Our guys were ready,” Orgeron said about his offense. “Great job by (offensive coordinator) Steve Ensminger who went through a tragedy today to calling a game. He’s the MVP right now.”
Ensminger’s daughter-in-law Carley McCord was one of five people tragically killed in a plane crash in Louisiana earlier Saturday.
Orgeron also ended his halftime segment saying that injured running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire would likely sit out the rest of the game to rest up for the national championship.
