Alabama’s campaign to repeat as national champions got off to a strong start with a dominating 44-13 win over No. 14 Miami in Atlanta.
After the game, Nick Saban shared his thoughts on the season opener, discussing injuries, individual performances and more in his postgame press conference.
Here are some of the highlights from the presser:
- Very pleased with the offense, wasn’t sure what to expect with so many new players.
- On QB Bryce Young: Played really well for his first start. “He played like a veteran out there.”
- On RB Trey Sanders, who has missed time due to injury Happy as he’ll get to see Sanders score a TD.
- On LB Christopher Allen: Pretty significant foot injury, could miss rest of the season.
- On LB Henry To’o To’o: Hurt his elbow but will be ok.
- Damieon George, LaBryan Ray and DeMarcco Hellams dressed for game but did not play “by design.” Hope is to have them back soon.
- On Drew Sanders: Coaches have confidence in him. He rotates with starters in practice.
