Here’s what a few notable head coaches said after Saturday’s SEC games:

NICK SABAN following Alabama’s emphatic 59-0 win which included a record-setting 35-point second quarter: “Defensively, this is the best we’ve played against this kind of offense. Had to make some adjustment but The players did a really good job being physical and making a break on the ball. We effected their quarterback with our pass rush. I was very, very proud of the way our team played today.”
STEVE SPURRIER after South Carolina snapped a two-game losing streak and finished off Furman, 41-10: “I know it wasn’t real pretty all the time, but when you haven’t won (a game) in almost a month, it feels good to win a ballgame. Furman made a few yards on us, but I thought our defense played pretty well in the second half. We had a lot of good plays and a lot of sorry plays.”
KEVIN SUMLIN on Texas A&M’s third straight loss, a humiliating defeat in Tuscaloosa: “It’s hard to say where we are right now and I think the bye week comes at a good time. We need to look within and examine what we’re doing schematically. However you cut it, that performance was unacceptable and embarrassing.”
MARK RICHT after 10th-ranked Georgia won another SEC road game without Todd Gurley: “It was an outstanding victory. I’m very proud of our team. Obviously the first half (38 points) was about as good as you could ever hope a first half could go.”
HUGH FREEZE after Ole Miss recovered from early struggles to dominate Tennessee: “I’m really proud of a lot of things tonight. There are also a lot of things that will most certainly keep us grounded. We need to work on some things to be more efficient and get better. We’re a team that plays to our strengths until we get the right opening. We’re playing so well right now.”
BUTCH JONES on the Vols’ offensive struggles in Oxford: “All week long we talked about having to earn every yard we get, and that this game would be a battle of field possession. I thought that was extremely evident in the first half and we did not cash in on that. I think the overall lack of depth is apparent. I am a realist and the only real way to fix this is recruitment.”
BRET BIELEMA after his Razorbacks played flat in the first half against Georgia: “We weren’t ourselves. The only person responsible for that is me. I guarantee 100 percent. That’s on me.”
WILL MUSCHAMP on getting blown out to Missouri: “At the end of the day, you’re not going to win many games turning the ball over six times, giving up 14 points on special teams. Defensively, I thought our kids played well enough to win the game.”
