Will Ohio State get in the College Football Playoff?

Most projections point toward no, but ESPN’s Playoff Predictor says the Buckeyes have the highest probability to slide into the No. 4 slot. That would be somewhat surprising, as most figure Oklahoma gets in at No. 4.

Ohio State defeated Northwestern 45-24 in the Big Ten Championship Game Saturday night, but did it do enough to impress the selection committee? Remember, Ohio State got hammered by Purdue 49-20 this year and narrowly won a few weeks ago over Maryland 52-51 in OT. Just last week, however, Ohio State throttled then-No. 4 Michigan 62-39.

The Buckeyes are truly Jekyll and Hyde.

Following OSU’s win over the Wildcats, Urban Meyer was asked why he thinks the Buckeyes deserve a shot at the Playoff.

“Well, I think all you have to look at is the body of work,” Meyer said after the game on FOX. “We went on the road and had some tough wins – TCU, Penn State, Michigan State. And then to come back and play against our rivals the way we did. And then we went and represented the Eastern Conference and had a great game here.

“I think we deserve a shot,” Meyer said.
