Kendall Milton missed Georgia’s blowout win over Vanderbilt on Saturday, but Kirby Smart explained why the running back didn’t see any action.

“Kendall is nursing a little bit of a shoulder injury from the South Carolina,” Smart said. “He probably could’ve gone but we were gonna wait and see if we needed him to go. He practiced during the week with a black jersey and came out of that late in the week. We were able to hold him and very fortunate to do that. Looking for him to come back.”

Milton this season is Georgia’s second-leading rusher coming into Saturday, with 119 yards on 24 carries. In that win over the Gamecocks, he had career-high rushes (10) and rushing yards (66). Earlier, Milton had 8 rushes for 26 yards against UAB, and had 6 carries for 21 yards in Georgia’s season-opening win over Clemson.
