After just one game, South Carolina coach Will Muschamp is sold on freshman QB Jake Bentley.

The first-year coach is also high on another Gamecocks’ freshman, QB Brandon McIlwain.

That prompted Muschamp to make a bold proclamation on Thursday night, claiming the Gamecocks will have top production from the quarterback position in the coming years:

Obviously, for a team that’s currently No. 127 (out of 128 FBS teams) in terms of scoring offense at 16.9 points per game, there’s a lot of work to do in the next few years to reach Muschamp’s lofty expectations.
