Will Reichard’s first extra point of Saturday’s Alabama-Arkansas was for the lead in more ways than one.

After Jalen Milroe found Kobe Prentice for a 79-yard touchdown, Reichard kicked the extra point to put Alabama up 7-6 on Arkansas. It was career point No. 481 for Reichard, making him the SEC’s all-time scoring leader. Former Auburn kicker Daniel Carlson was the previous SEC points king with 480 points scored over 2014-17 after redshirting in 2013.

Reichard is in his fifth season. He missed time in 2019 as a freshman, but played in 5 games, meaning he could not redshirt. The NCAA’s COVID-19 waiver for the 2020 season granted him an extra season of eligibility after playing in 56 games over 4 years.

In 2021, Reichard recorded 137 points, the most of his career. He entered Saturday’s SEC West clash with 33 points on 4 field goals and 21 PATs.

Reichard has 3 points through 1 half of Saturday’s game. Alabama has scored 3 offensive touchdowns, taking a 21-6 lead over Arkansas after the Razorbacks got out to a 6-0 start in Tuscaloosa. With Alabama in Game 7 of the 2023 season, Reichard will have plenty of opportunities to add to his point total before his UA career comes to a close.

Alabama-Arkansas is airing on ESPN.
