Williams Nwaneri gave Mizzou fans lots to celebrate on Monday when he committed to the Tigers. On Thursday, he worried some MU fans with his choice of attire.

Nwaneri’s Lee’s Summit North team took part in a scrimmage with Union in Tulsa Thursday night. The Mizzou pledge wore Oklahoma gloves and gear in the game. The Sooners were one of the top contenders to land Nwaneri’s commitment.

After the game, Nwaneri was asked about Monday’s big decision and Thursday night’s attire. He said he was “having fun” while showing the Sooners some love in Oklahoma. Unsurprisingly, Brent Venables’ staff hasn’t given up on getting Nwaneri to sign with OU.

“Oh yeah. They’re still recruiting me and all that,” Nwaneri told reporters. “I’m gonna let everything play out. I’ll let the whole season play out. I don’t know. I’m committed to Mizzou, though. Just having fun with it. Showing love. All that.”

Eli Drinkwitz and his staff are hoping to sign Nwaneri in December. We’ll see if there are any twists and turns in the 5-star prospect’s recruitment after verbally committing to Mizzou.
