Griffin is one of the very best high school recruits in the country regardless of class or position. He’s the No. 27 overall player and the No. 2 linebacker in the nation for the class of 2026, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also regarded as the No. 4 player from the state of Georgia.
Griffin is a Gainesville (Ga.) native, beating out the Bulldogs and other top SEC programs for his commitment is a big victory for DeBoer and his staff. He’s listed at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds.
Alabama is now up to 14 commits in the class of 2026. Griffin is the Tide’s highest-ranked commit so far this cycle. The group overall ranks No. 10 nationally but there’s still plenty of time for Alabama to improve that national ranking before the Early Signing Period in December.
Griffin is the 8th 2026 commit Alabama has secured since the beginning of June.
