Xavier McKinney, a former Alabama safety and current New York Giants player, revealed an injury suffered during the team’s bye week in Cabo.

McKinney said he joined a group for a guided ATV tour, and said a hand injury he suffered on trip will keep him out for “a few weeks.”

“I will do everything I can to get back as quickly as possible,” he wrote on social media. “So I can contribute to what we’re building here in NY.”

The Giants are 6-2 coming out of their bye week have a great chance to continue that momentum the next 2 weeks against Houston and Detroit. The Giants haven’t made the playoffs since 2016.

The Giants drafted McKinney 36th overall in 2020, and an intriguing game for him to return would be the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day.

At Alabama in 2019, McKinney was selected as a third team All-American at safety by the Associated Press and named to the All-SEC first team by the league coaches and the Associated Press.
