Zach Arnett reportedly expected to join Dan Mullen at UNLV

Zach Arnett is set to connect with Mississippi State yet again. Well, kind of, anyway.
After he was strongly connected to App State as recently as Tuesday, where many expected him to land next, reports have now surfaced that Arnett will join former Bulldogs head coach Dan Mullen at UNLV as the program’s defensive coordinator.
That’s per 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz:
Arnett has been biding his time at Ole Miss as an analyst since he was fired by Mississippi State in his role as the head coach. Arnett spent just 1 season as head coach after replacing the late Mike Leach in that role. He previously served as Mississippi State’s defensive coordinator, although he did not overlap with Mullen in Starkville.
Taking this opportunity out west would give him the ability to return to his former role that he excelled in most back when he had a Bulldogs defensive group that was among the toughest to contend with not only in the SEC, but in the nation. He enters this position with the Rebels with high expectations abound, considering not only his track record as a coordinator, but also with the recent success UNLV has had on that side of the ball.
It will be interesting to see how things shake out as Arnett looks to continue bouncing back after his blunders with the Bulldogs.
