12 SEC players featured in latest MLB Mock Draft from MLB.com

The SEC was college baseball’s top conference in 2025, dominating the polls during the regular season, landing a record number of NCAA Tournament bids and extending its national championship streak with LSU’s win in the College World Series.
Some of the SEC’s best players are about to begin their professional baseball careers. The 2025 MLB Draft is under a week away, with Rounds 1-3 set to begin Sunday during All-Star Game festivities in Atlanta.
SEC fans can expect a lot of familiar names called on Sunday. The latest mock draft from MLB.com has 12 SEC players going in the first 43 selections (including supplemental first-round picks).
The mock includes College World Series Most Outstanding Player Kade Anderson and Golden Spikes winner Wehiwa Aloy. Here’s the full list of SEC players:
- No. 1 – Kade Anderson, P, LSU – Washington Nationals
- No. 2 – Liam Doyle, P, Tennessee – Los Angeles Angels
- No. 5 – Ike Irish, OF/C, Auburn – St. Louis Cardinals
- No. 13 – Kyson Witherspoon, P, Oklahoma – San Francisco Giants
- No. 17 – Wehiwa Aloy, SS, Arkansas – Chicago Cubs
- No. 20 – Jace LaViolette, OF, Texas A&M – Milwaukee Brewers
- No. 21 – Gavin Kilen, 2B, Tennessee – Houston Astros
- No. 22 – Gage Wood, P, Arkansas – Atlanta Braves
Supplemental first-round picks:
- No. 29 – Andrew Fischer, 1B/3B, Tennessee – Arizona Diamondbacks
- No. 35 – Max Belyeu, OF, Texas – Seattle Mariners
- No. 39 – Riley Quick, P, Alabama – New York Yankees
