Jac Caglianone, welcome to the majors.

Maybe. Maybe the Kansas City Royals aren’t quite there yet. But it’s getting harder to deny the former Florida slugger. After smacking his first AAA home run on Thursday night, Caglianone went yard again on Friday.

Thursday’s belter went 410 feet and came off the bat at 113.6 miles per hour. Friday’s blast to right field went 431 feet and left his bat at 111 miles per hour.

The home run came in the first inning of Friday night’s contest between the Omaha Storm Chasers and the Salt Lake Bees. Three batters in, Cags gave the Storm Chasers a 3-0 lead.

Friday’s affair marked Caglianone’s fourth game at the AAA level. He earned a promotion after spending 38 games at the AA level in the Kansas City Royals organization. Over those 38 games, he slashed .322/.394./553 with 9 home runs.

Perhaps a call-up is coming sooner rather than later. At 28-23, Kansas City is only 5 games out of first in the AL Central, but pitching proficiency is powering the season. Kansas City is 26th in the MLB in runs scored this season and dead last in home runs.

Caglianone mashed 68 home runs over his final 2 seasons with the Gators, and if he finds a groove with the Storm Chasers, it will only be a matter of time.
