5 ex-Kentucky players land on NBA All-Star rosters for 2025-26
Five former Kentucky Wildcats were named to the 2025-26 NBA All-Star rosters on Sunday evening.
The headliner is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who was previously announced as an All-Star starter. Gilgeous-Alexander led the Oklahoma City Thunder to the NBA Championship last season and became the first ex-Kentucky player to win the NBA’s MVP Award in 2024-25.
Joining Gilgeous-Alexander for All-Star this weekend will be former Wildcats Karl-Anthony Towns, Tyrese Maxey, Devin Booker and Jamal Murray.

This is a particularly-meaningful accomplishment for Murray, as this is his first All-Star nod in his career. Although Murray has long been one of the NBA’s best shot-makers and has won a title with the Nuggets, he’s never been named an All-Star. He’s having a career year in 2025-26, though, as he’s averaging almost 26 points per game.
This is the sixth All-Star nod for Towns, who is averaging 20 points per game for the Knicks this season. Booker has now reached five All-Star games and has the Suns in position to make a surprise playoff push in 2026. Maxey is averaging a career-high 29 points per game and will head to the All-Star game for the second time.
The All-Star Game will be played on Feb. 15.
