College football fans still remember Urban Meyer as a winner — 2 national titles at Florida, 1 at Ohio State, plenty of success at Utah.
But, now that Meyer has been fired by the Jacksonville Jaguars after a 2-11 start to his first season at the helm of the franchise, that winning legacy has been tarnished.
As you might expect, there was plenty of reaction to the Meyer firing all over Twitter, including plenty from college football fans.
Here are some of the top tweets about Meyer being out in Jacksonville:
2014 College Football:
•Dan Mullen & Mississipppi St spend 5 weeks as the AP number 1 team
•Urban Meyer wins the 1st College Football Playoff at Ohio St
•Gary Patterson splits the Big12 title going 12-1 at TCU
•Tom Herman wins the Broyles Award
Time flies…

Urban Meyer has presumably finished his NFL career with fewer wins (2) than FBS National Championships (3).

I feel somewhat ashamed I even considered the possibility of #UrbanMeyer as the Ducks next coach. Dodged a major bullet if the reports were right about possible reciprocal interest. pic.twitter.com/YSNSdYqAur

Will we see Meyer in the coaching ranks at the college level again? We’ll see what the future holds for the 3-time national champion who attempted a disastrous transition to the NFL.
